A really horrible book. It's like 90210 set in space. Bad characters. Bad plot. Boring plot. Predictable ending. And how it drags....

I was nervous when I first started reading this after seeing some negative reviews about it, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's not the best written novel or the most detailed, but Ms. Morgan does enough to keep you wanting to know what happened. I was sucked into the characters lives and how they wound up where they did. There were a lot of characters and it was hard to really get attached to them since you were really focusing on so many. This one was definitely setting up the rest of the series, so I'm curious to see where she takes it. If you liked this, or even if you didn't, another novel with a somewhat similar take, but handled differently is Perfect Ruin by Lauren DeStefano (enjoyed that one A LOT!).

I picked up this book as I liked the premiere of the 100 on TV. However, the story in this book is completely different from the plot on the TV. So if you are in the same boat save yourself and dont waste time on this.

Even on a stand alone basis, this book is a piece of trash. The characters are annoying and the way the plot unfolds is even more confusing. There is too much drama and less of action.

The premise is nice but the plot and story telling are poor.

overall rating - 0 stars.

I loved this book. I wanted to read it when I found it it is being made into a tv show. I'm glad I did. I could not put this book down. It's a very easy read, but it is a great book. I love the characters and the fact that the book is written from 4 different character's points of view. I genuinely cared what happened to the characters. I can't wait for the next books in the series to come out and I hope the tv show is just a good.

My final thoughts after finishing this book: This trash is going to be a TV show? There are so many problems with this book that it's not even funny. The characters are very self-centered and boring. There are literally a million POVs. (Which is awful and confusing) Morgan tends to over-dramatacize everything. If something needs to be,"Okay, I'll deal with it," it gets turned into, "Ohmigosh, I'll never see you again." (I really thought that would be fun too say. Ohmigosh!) This was going to be a DNF at 150 pages, but for completion's sake, I read the whole thing. I wish someone had bribed me to read it instead of reading it of my own free will. Near the middle of the book, I found myself not caring what happened to any of the characters. Overall, it's definitely not my favorite. I will not be continuing this series, or rereading the 100 ever again.
