A Romi girl captured by the Nazis. Chosen to be a movie extra, a stunt double. A run-away, stowed in a flat for months. A puppet theater seamstress... Delightfully quirky, beautiful and heart breaking, The Extra tells a captivating and emotional story of Nazi Germany's arrested gypsies.

This was so interesting- I read the back and was captivated. It's on a topic I've never heard about- when 'gypsies' were arrested in Nazi Germany, some of them were used as movie extras- and interested me right away.
The book itself is so so good- awful, beautiful, quirky, sweet, vivid... so sad and so happy at the same time.
