Dark Star is a fun book, it gets you hook on the first page and the cover is appealing. Through out the book you will grow onto the characters and keep up on the action. Although somethings you can quickly figure out or guess, its worth a read. You will not be disappointed.

A bit predictable all told. Still a good read despite that.

Let me start that saying my primary motivation in placing a hold on this book was the fact that the author's last name is my maiden name. Also, it was a brand-new YA novel, and the cover looked interesting. This was an amazing find and a very happy coincidence for me. I've never been one to go crazy for the superhero graphic novels, the movies are usually decent, but I'm not typically excited over the book versions. This one was just fantastic, and introduces a new brand of superhero. And on top of that, it's a debut novel for this author. The plot, characters, back stories, history, all wonderful and well planned out. Can't say enough good things about this, and the best part is that it's going to be a series (not sure how many books, but this is just the first). I really hope that the second one blows me away because this is the ultimate debut YA novel.

Hopde that this the first of a trilogy; interesting interrelationships and metaphysics (and physics).

So good. Demons and guardians and kin. Can be confusing at times (to me) but it was okay. The second one should be out fall 2013
