Add a CommentI really enjoyed this book. It was written well and hard to put down!
I'll admit that it took me a little while to get used to the writing style, but once I did I got sucked into the story. I read the book in 2 and a half hours and the entire time I was trying to figure out who did it, and then who was behind it.I enjoyed the fact that the story is told mostly from Jay's perspective but it also has journal entries from Nicole's point of view, and the occasional write ups from the psychologists. I enjoyed the journals from Nicole not only because it gave another perspective to the story but also because just when you thought you knew who threw the acid on Nicole's face, you read a journal entry that made you second guess what you believed. I REALLY enjoyed this book and I think it has a little bit of something for everyone; a bit of subtle romance, computer hacking and of course, the mystery of who threw the acid of Nicole's face.
Outstanding book and read. Hacker Noir has truly been captured in the Young Adult (YA) category: Michelle Gagnon's "Don't Turn Around" plus this one plus Brain Jack by the New Zealand author. Adult fiction just doesn't cut it in the Hacker Noir category. Highly recommended.
