Add a CommentA good read that makes you think about mortality and what it means to be immortal. The character development is well done and no one seems to step out of their defined role while still growing. The end was predictable if you can pick up on details, but otherwise great.
This is an amazing book! Although you might not understand it if you are not mature. Please read1
There have been several new authors on the YA scene in the last couple of years that have produced some really interesting work. I think this is one to watch for. Really great premise, voice and characters. Solid read.
Unique view on immortality. beautiful story, characters have depth and the twists never end
"Raised in a secret laboratory hidden in the Amazon rain forest, 16-year-old Pia was genetically engineered to be perfect, and she's being trained to lead a new immortal race. But Pia is curious - and frustrated by the scientists' refusal to indulge her questions about the outside world - and, on her 17th birthday, she escapes from the only home she's ever known. Wandering through the jungle, she meets a boy from a nearby village and begins to learn some startling truths about her captors... and about love. With a dystopian edge and lots of action, Origin is a good pick for fans of other blends of romance and SF, such as Gennifer Albin's Crewel." Similar to a lot of the dystopian novels but still an interesting and fast-paced read.
