Yesterday is a mix of a SF dystopian and romance novel. The novel moves between 1985 and in the future. It's 1985 Freya and her family have moved back to Canada from New Zealand. Freya has had flu-like symptoms since the family moved back and she can’t seem to remember much about her life in New Zealand. She meets a boy at school, Garren, and she is certain that she somehow knows him. Garren does not remember Freya. Freya confronts Garren and they both realize that odd coincidences seem to tie them together. Lots of action, appealing characters, and the high-school setting will appeal to teens. Patrons who enjoyed the Hunger Games will enjoy this YA novel. KY
