Add a CommentA spare, beautiful, lovely short novel. Keegan does a brilliant job putting the reader into the head of a poor Irish farm girl from a large family who goes to live with her aunt and uncle. Used to living with nearly countless siblings on a very poor farm, for the first time in her life Leanbh experiences what it would have been like to be an only child, the sole object of her parents' affection. Heartbreaking but in a lovely way.
