Add a CommentWhat can I say that Clive Cussler, Lincoln Child, Robert Crais and others haven't already said about this novel?! Humanity in the hands of this guys wins ... hands down! Bravo!
Connelly's getting lazy. This is an old story with highly successful mystery writers. They start cranking them out to meet contractual deadlines and the results are, well, predictable. I found this one B-O-R-I-N-G and Bosch seemed cut from cardboard, unlike the complexity he showed in the earlier HB books. I put it down half way through. Hard to understand why Publishers Weekly thought it was "deeply satisfying." Hardly.
Connelly is one of my favorites. Bosch is a great flawed character, even if he is getting long in the tooth. It might be time for retirement Harry. Not the best in the Bosch books, but not the worst either.
Its a goody
I enjoyed this book, but it lacked some kind of action. Is Connelly going to retire Bosch? I hope not, but reading this book makes me feel I've seen the last of Bosch.:(:(
Fast pace detective story about the death of a LA politician's son. Was it a suicide or murder case? Only bit of weakness is on the suicide motive.
Another winner from Connelly. I'm anxious to see how things play out with Bosch's daughter.
Great read - starts out slow to create all characters - many twists end leaves room for more adventures for Harry.
We can expect much better from Michael Connely. This novel is the weakest of all.Harry is pictured as a saint with profound liberal implications.Smetimes is better to wright less but worthy of reading.
The Drop ---- by Michael Connelly c - 2011 (Harry Bosch Story) ---- Wow, a very good read. Harry Bosch and his partner Chu had thier hands full on this one. And for me. getting the time to cruse through this novel was very hard. (finished it 12-30-11) ---- Enjoy! ---- RichardPaul
