Add a CommentGreat discovery! The action is good and the main character, Jack Reacher, is good too.
Read up to Chap 39. Start on Chap 40 page 186. April 21, 2012.
Slow moving. Gratuitous sex. Lee Child has written better, more suspenseful thrillers; this isn't one of them.
If you read the rest & wondered about Reacher's past, this book will fill you in. We finally learn how & why he began his life of cross country hitchhiking. It also hints at how his brother ended up in prison but that part of the story isn't developed. It's a good, entertaining read where everyone has an agenda & battle lines are anything but clear. I found the ending kind of sad as he begins his new life. Violent, as usual, and sometimes unnecessarily so but typical of this series & you'll find yourself cheering for him.

jack reacher novel......good writing, murders near a military base....nice twist at the end....
Lee Child does it again! Not literature by any stretch of the imagination, but a wonderful tale told in a gripping fashion from start to finish.
HA! This is just another of Lee Child's working of Jack and giving us another insight as to where he was and where we are going with this great character. If you don't know ... now you know!
Tells readers why Reacher left the Army and began his hitch hike adventures across the country. More please!
One of Lee Child's best books ever. Wonderful plot with twists and turns. Couldn't put it down.
